Some couples want the proposal to be intimate. Brandon and Lisa got engaged privately at Sea Ranch, and then we met up after to make it official on camera; a relaxed hour to celebrate the fact that they'd just decided to spend their lives together.

Brandon proposed in February, which is honestly one of the most beautiful times to be at Sea Ranch. The grass is bright green and the ocean turns a deep, saturated blue. It's a bit of a gamble; February can just as easily be rainy and foggy, but the risk paid off. The coast looked stunning, and the light was soft and even, which is exactly what you want for portraits. It was such a special day.

Why the Sea Ranch Lodge Is a Special Place to Propose

Sea Ranch is a true destination. You can make a whole trip of it; sharing a beautiful room with ocean views, slowing down, taking long walks together along the coast. As a Sea Ranch proposal photographer, I love how the architecture is organic yet sharp at the same time, making for a beautiful atmosphere that translates well in photos. Everywhere on the property feels entirely different; a proposal on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific feels natural and remote, while the meadows and courtyards feel intimate and tucked away. You truly cannot chose a bad place to propose here.
