As a Sea Ranch wedding photographer, I think the Lodge might be the most beautiful place in the world to get married because of its design. Sea Ranch was built in the 1960s around a simple, radical idea: to live lightly on the land. That philosophy is everywhere you look, from the silvered, weathered wood to the low rooflines angled against the wind. Decades on, this mid-century modern icon still feels fresh and contemporary. It's the rare place where thoughtful modernist architecture meets raw, rugged coastline and it's unlike anywhere else in the world.


An Intimate Sea Ranch Lodge Wedding

N & L's wedding was filled with intentionality; a perfect balance between joyfully celebrating with their closest friends and family and reserving a few quiet moments throughout the day just for each other. The couple have lived all along the California coast together, and the bride is a lifelong diver, so the ocean has always been part of their love story. The Sea Ranch Lodge was the perfect place for them to get married.

Everywhere on the property feels entirely different; ceremonies on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific feel natural and remote, while receptions in the Lodge feel cool and contemporary.
