As a Sea Ranch couples photographer, I think the Lodge is the perfect place to propose. It's romantic, secluded, has gorgeous mid-century modern architecture, every room has an ocean view, and there are tons of places to hike and explore along the Pacific coast. There's no shortage of beautiful spots to pop the question. If you're dreaming one up, I've written a full guide to proposing at the Sea Ranch Lodge. Here's how L & T's sweet proposal came together at the Sea Ranch Lodge in October.


An Sweet Sea Ranch Lodge Proposal

L and his girlfriend T headed up the Sea Ranch Lodge for a romantic weekend together. Unbeknownst to her, he was also planning to propose while there. Lolu communicated with the Lodge staff to hand them a "walking tour guide" when they checked in. It was actually entirely made up by L (complete with descriptions and a working QR code!) to trick his girlfriend into going to a scenic spot where he planned to propose.


As their proposal photographer, I was also able to help him plan the perfect time and location. Right when the sun was about to set, L got down on one knee and popped the question. T was so surprised and it was the sweetest night ever! We ended the day with a few photos of them around the property before their dinner reservation at the Sea Ranch Lodge's Dining Room restaurant.

Why the Sea Ranch Lodge Is a Special Place to Propose

Sea Ranch is a true destination. You can make a whole trip of it; sharing a beautiful room with ocean views, slowing down, taking long walks together along the coast. As a Sea Ranch proposal photographer, I love how the architecture is organic yet sharp at the same time, making for a beautiful atmosphere that translates well in photos. Everywhere on the property feels entirely different; a proposal on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific feels natural and remote, while the meadows and courtyards feel intimate and tucked away. You truly cannot chose a bad place to propose here.
