As a Sea Ranch couples photographer, I think the Lodge is the perfect place to propose. It's romantic, secluded, has gorgeous mid-century modern architecture, every room has an ocean view, and there are tons of places to hike and explore along the Pacific coast. Here's how Greg and Lauren's sweet proposal came together at the Sea Ranch Lodge in January.


An Sweet Sea Ranch Lodge Proposal,

Some moments are just better with your dog there. Greg, Lauren, and their sweet pup Ollie headed up the coast for a family getaway at the Sea Ranch Lodge together. Unbeknownst to Lauren, Greg was planning to propose while there.


Sometimes a surprise comes with a few surprises of its own. When we got to the spot Greg had originally picked, a couple of hikers were already standing there. Greg wanted somewhere a little more private so we adjusted; he kept walking, found a new spot a little past the original, and I hung back and read the moment so Greg could still catch Lauren off guard. Then Greg got down on one knee and Ollie was there to celebrate with them! It was perfect.

Why the Sea Ranch Lodge Is a Special Place to Propose

Sea Ranch is a true destination. You can make a whole trip of it; sharing a beautiful room with ocean views, slowing down, taking long walks together along the coast. As a Sea Ranch proposal photographer, I love how the architecture is organic yet sharp at the same time, making for a beautiful atmosphere that translates well in photos. Everywhere on the property feels entirely different; a proposal on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific feels natural and remote, while the meadows and courtyards feel intimate and tucked away. You truly cannot chose a bad place to propose here.
